Susan Schoellkopf

Born March 29, 1951 in Buffalo, Susan has owned and operated SBS Farms, Inc. since 1980, where she has trained hunters, jumpers, and equestrian students at the national level, with great success. Over the years, she has trained seven National High Score award horses out of The Buffalo Therapeutic Riding Center, and has been a top national horse show judge for over 25 years.

Susie was executive director of the Buffalo Equestrian Center for 20 years, and has served on many national boards & committees (e.g. United States Equestrian Foundation (USEF) Hunter Task Force, USEF Junior Hunter Task Force, USEF Drugs and Medication Committee, International Horseman’s Advisory).

She is the owner of Jersey Boy, a three-time USEF Horse of the Year (2009-11) and winner of the 2012 United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) International Hunter Derby Championship.

Since 1990, Schoellkopf has been the executive director of the Buffalo Therapeutic Riding Center (BTRC). This organization serves a large number of children with special needs, ages 6 to 18. Every year the BTRC hosts its Buffalo International Horse Show, raising crucial funds for the therapeutic program.

In addition, she is also the president of Athletes for Equity Resource Center. An organization which started in 2019 and has a free hotline for athletes, parents and coaches involving all sports.

She was inducted into the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame in 2014.
